How to repair the damage in drywall

Then, smooth out the joint compound with a small drywall knife and let it dry. Apply two additional coats on the surface of the wall with a small drywall knife again, then, apply the compound out evenly over the next surface. Once the compound has dried, sand it smoothly before priming and painting. Finally, This method can become a permanent repair.
